Distilling to The Essence of the Situation ❤ Self – Love Note

Do you crave to feel clear, present, intentional and centered in your inner knowing?

I do!

But I can get buried in the emotions, relations, busy-ness, and external pressures of daily life, losing a feeling of groundedness and perspective on the larger picture of why I am here.

There’s nothing wrong with getting in the micro-relations of life, but I feel clearer and more at ease when I understand what is I am even doing here.

And I do mean, what I am doing here on a spiritual level, on the level of who I am and what my soul is learning (and that changes and evolves). Simple and clear.

What is My Soul Learning Here?

Sometimes my soul is learning to rest and be quiet, sometimes to be bold and speak. Sometimes it’s to experience a new level of sexuality, and others a time to know the joys and pleasures of earth. And other times it’s to understand race relations and dynamics that I’m caught up in, or to learn how to surrender.

Especially when I’ve asked myself these questions:

  • What am I doing here in this situation?
  • Why is this happening to me again?
  • Is this right or aligned for me now?

Or even in new situations, if I’d like to “energetically appraise” the situation for what it might bring to me and what I might be learning, I feel into the purpose and essence of the situation.

Getting to the Spiritual Essence

The spiritual essence of a situation is all about what you’re here to learn in the context of your human life. It’s about who you are and developing yourself at the deepest levels.

One way to approach this is to recognize that you have a desire on a deep level of your being to learn something or experience something. There is a purpose to every challenging situation and your soul (inner guide, psyche, or core self, etc.) draws you into it to help you grow.

If you’d like to practice this, after feeling safety or grounding in your body, experiment with some of these tools to feel into the purpose and essence of the situation.

  • Slow down and feel into your body. Release the thinking mind. Feel the breath.
  • Drop deeply beyond the body sensations, emotions, and heart, and into the neutral witness and inner wisdom inside, and open to distilling the situation down to a its seed.
  • With curiosity, ask your inner wise self/inner guide/leader in you: – What am I here in this situation to learn? – What did or do I desire to learn in this? – What does this situation bring me? – What is the deepest theme within this relationship (to another person, situation, or thing)? – What is the essence of learning in this experience at this time?

These questions, if asked with love and openness, have helped me bring clarity and relief in a variety of situations that have been challenging, every day situations and those in the past.

A Process of Inner Truth Revealing

As always, it’s a process to develop this relationship with your inner self and inner truth. Sometimes our mind gets tangled up and we begin to think and analyze. That can be somewhat helpful, though you may go even deeper internally to the parts of you that know without thinking.

You’ll know if you’ve touched into that level if the responses come rather quickly and easily (sometimes quietly), almost instinctively, and if they resonate with more than just your head. Everyone has a different place in the body that connects up with their inner knowing. Finding it brings a deep connection with the essence of yourself!
