Yes and…

you and..

Improv Comedy uses the basic rule of “yes, and!”

When a two or more people get together to do improv, by saying “yes, and…”, they accept the reality that is created by their partner and open a collaborative process. When someone says “no” the reality is rejected and the energy and momentum is stopped.

Two Insights we can take with us from Improv:

1. Take life's momentum by saying “yes” and accepting the moment's reality.

This allows you to make an informed and insightful decision on what to do next. This doesn't mean you always condone what is happening. It means to feel and experience what is happening inside of you and in your surroundings. Take in the nuances. Use your freedom of choice and fuller awareness to take your next step.

2. Instead of a “Yes, but…”, take a “Yes, and…” approach to daily life, relationships, and your parenting.

See what this creates for you and others. We often say no to the flow of life coming towards us, invalidate each other, and create opposition with our ‘buts' in life. This helps us embrace, include, add, and bring whole. “Yes, and…” allows us to widen our circle and expand in our acceptance for all the expressions of life.

With your kids: Yes, I know you feel angry you can't have ice cream right now, AND we can have it after dinner. I love you AND I don't like that you threw my toothbrush in the toilet.

With life experiences: Yes, this devastating thing happened, AND it makes me a richer person. You had a difficult time with this AND you can try again next time.

With your relationships: You feel/think this AND I feel/think….

Your Support Means So Much!

If The Embody Podcast, my writing, or guided healing meditations have inspired you, helped, or spoken to you, it would mean the world to me if you would show your support through a small donation.

Each creation is lovingly made from my soul and takes anywhere from weeks to a few days to develop and produce. I gladly pay an editor who supports me in polishing and creating high quality content.

As little as $2 help nourish my podcast and other creations to continue to have life and cover costs.

You can also take a look at my offerings which can deepen your embodiment on your own journey. Proceeds from those offerings also help me in the creation of more resources and material.
