Candice Wu 0:00
This episode is a 10-minute segment of my appearance on Mind-Body Radio recently, where I talked about what I offer, how I came to my healing work practice, the clients I see, and the offerings that I have as well as the podcast, and what I’m up to.
Candice Wu 0:21
Hello and welcome. You’re listening to the Embody Podcast, a show about remembering and embodying your true nature, inner wisdom, Embodied Healing, and self-love.
Candice Wu 0:34
My name is Candice Wu. And I’m a holistic healing facilitator, intuitive coach, and artist sharing my personal journey of vulnerability, offering meditations and guided healing support, and having co-creative conversations with healers and wellness practitioners from all over the world.
Candice Wu 0:55
Thanks so much for tuning in today. We’ll just jump right into my Mind-Body Radio appearance that was early in September 2019 this month.
Mind-Body Radio 1:06
Alright, and we are back. This is Mind-Body Radio and I have Candice Wu on the line. She is calling from Chicago and the name of her business is Embrace Your Nature. Candice, thanks for joining us today.
Candice Wu 1:17
It’s great to be here, Chris, actually it’s Embody Your Nature.
Mind-Body Radio 1:20
Oh, I’m sorry. What did I say then?
Candice Wu 1:22
Right. Embrace —
Mind-Body Radio 1:24
I said Embrace? Oh.
Candice Wu 1:26
That’s perfect anyway because that’s what it’s all about, Embracing your Nature.
Mind-Body Radio 1:31
Well, I have Embody here. I guess my mind just went to embrace for some reason. Well, either way, why don’t you? —
Candice Wu 1:37
You probably sensed it.
Mind-Body Radio 1:39
Why don’t you tell us a little more about yourself, Candice? And what exactly it is that you do?
Candice Wu 1:44
Thank you. Yeah, I am a holistic healing facilitator and I love to support people in feeling like themselves, that they can feel like themselves at ease in their bodies and that they can deeply love themselves. So I support them through the process of being in alignment with themselves and navigating their emotional and their physical, felt-sense-experience in their body. And when it does come up, which it usually does, that there are things that feel like they’re stuck or blocked, or related to past trauma, intergenerational trauma, or even past life trauma, I support people in navigating how to heal that from within.
Mind-Body Radio 2:29
Now, how would you describe yourself as a coach, as a healer? Or, as even a counselor? Do you have a title? Or, is that a few factors from all of that?
Candice Wu 2:40
You know, I’ve really struggled with that. Because what I — the way I see the work is supporting someone in deepening in their experience of humanity. And yet, I have this very big healing background. So the best I can come up with for myself is a healing, holistic healing facilitator, and an intuitive coach.
Mind-Body Radio 3:02
Excellent. Now, let’s rewind a little more, why did you get into this kind of work? What was it that puts you on the path to helping other people?
Candice Wu 3:14
It’s really my own healing work that catapulted me into it. And it was about 12 years ago that I felt like, how, what is going on in my body? I felt this numbness on my right side. I felt like, I really was anxious all the time, headaches all the time, from pain and different parts of my body and I couldn’t quite get supported from all the typical avenues.
Candice Wu 3:43
And when I found the work that really supported me, I did a lot of EMDR work, which is a type of psychotherapy, that’s integrative, and Yoga and Ayurveda. I did some Somatic Experiencing, but then what I really found this type of work called Family Constellation, it’s completely integrating mind, body, and spirit, but also the different levels of who we are like our physical body, our emotional state, and our spirituality.
Candice Wu 4:15
In this experience that connects our ancestry, I just was floored at how I could heal from the inside out. And so in my own process of healing, I just found deeper and deeper levels of myself and my own gifts, and a way to feel like myself. And I found that other people just drew towards me and saw that and wanted that form me too, so wanted that support from me so I continue to do that.
Candice Wu 4:44
And I actually developed the Embody Podcast, which I’m the host of, which is a place that I can share some of the experiences that I continue to have, as well as the ways that I heal myself and reach out to others for that healing.
Mind-Body Radio 5:00
Great, and now while you were talking about it, how can our listeners access that podcast?
Mind-Body Radio 5:06
It’s at my website at CandiceWu.com/podcast and you can access it through any of the platforms like
Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, etc. But you can find it all right there and it’ll guide you through, you can listen right on the website. The really cool thing about this podcast is that I have guests every other week and both me and my guests often offer healing experiential and guided meditation. Because that is the way of my, where I see myself healing the best and others healing the best is that they’re moving through experiences in their body that helps them transform from inside. So the — you can tune into certain guided meditations and experientials that really connect with your life or resonate with you from there.
Mind-Body Radio 6:02
Now, talk to me about the clients that you’re seeing, who exactly is coming to you? Are you seeing any kind of commonality? Or, any kind of trend in your clients? Or, would you say it’s all across the map?
Candice Wu 6:16
The trends that I see or the trends of commonality are, that people are really interested in a deeper sense of themselves, wanting to really be kind to themselves, and feel like themselves. So they’re really wanting a deeper experience, rather than just trying to solve a quick problem.
Mind-Body Radio 6:36
Right.
Candice Wu 6:36
But I have people coming from all different avenues. Sometimes it’s through a physical tension or injury or pain that they can’t seem to get to the bottom of or resolve. And sometimes it’s a repetitive pattern in their lives that they keep finding themselves and really just don’t want to be in it anymore.
Candice Wu 6:58
And other times if I have this vision for myself, but I can’t quite get there or I’m on that but I’ve had challenges. So, that can be anyone.
Candice Wu 7:07
I also see people in relationships, in couples, as well as polyamorous relationships and I mentor and train coaches, healers, and other wellness practitioners in either developing or continuing to develop their personal voice in their work, or supporting trauma-sensitive and scientific approaches, as well as spiritual coaches into their, like waving that into their current practices already.
Mind-Body Radio 7:39
And now, are you able to perform this work remotely? Or, would you prefer face to face?
Candice Wu 7:46
Yeah, I love those.
Candice Wu 7:48
My regular clients are with me remotely and sometimes we see each other face to face. And that’s primarily because I’m also somewhat location independent at the time. So I travel the world at different times of my life, and my clients can still connect with me remotely. When we’re in the same location, it’s really great to be in person, also, because I do some touch work that supports the nervous system, their bodies, and the experience of being together in person. But I also do workshops and retreats and immersion and that will be on-site somewhere. So whether that’s —
Mind-Body Radio 8:30
That sounds lovely.
Candice Wu 8:30
Yeah, a retreat somewhere out there or near people’s home.
Mind-Body Radio 8:36
Now, let’s keep moving forward. We have room for about one more question here. So I’d like to hear about the future and what kind of goals you have moving forward, anything on your agenda?
Candice Wu 8:47
Oh, yeah.
Candice Wu 8:50
Two things come to mind. Two major things, three.
Candice Wu 8:55
One is that I am developing more and more of a simple lifestyle for myself. So this is more of a personal mixed with professional goal. But I just more and more feel this deep sense of being in every action of my life and in the simple thing. The second thing that’s really related to that is that I also offer experiences with horses and I’m developing in my own experience with horses, my connection with them, and how I can communicate with them psychically, and then experience what they have to offer me. And it’s lovely to be able to offer that to clients who are interested in working with horses, to just be with them, and also find their own wisdom and receive wisdom from them. So that’s an opening up. And the third piece is that I’m writing a book about money and healing money issues.
Mind-Body Radio 9:59
Really? So getting into the financial side of things.
Candice Wu 10:03
Yeah. Well, and I find that it is related to self-worth and value so deeply and our ancestral stories of money.
Mind-Body Radio 10:10
Oh, absolutely.
Candice Wu 10:11
That will all be in there.
Mind-Body Radio 10:12
Money is very much in our DNA.
Candice Wu 10:15
So much.
Mind-Body Radio 10:17
I would agree with that.
Mind-Body Radio 10:19
Now, before we do wrap up, I know you mentioned though, you have Candicewu.com you can access the podcast on there. Any other points of contact, social media, YouTube, anything like that?
Candice Wu 10:32
Yeah, I’m on Instagram, that might be the best social media platforms to connect with me on, and it’s CandiceWu.com/instagram and same as Facebook CandiceWu.com/facebook. I’m also on YouTube just a bit — CandiceWu.com/youtube. There are just the podcasts on there as a way — as a platform if you do like YouTube better.
