Releasing Overwhelm, Grounding, and Integration ❤ Self – Love Note

Do one simple thing for your heart and body today to feel grounded and enjoy life again.

When I am overwhelmed, I can’t think straight, feel anxious and overloaded, don’t sleep well, and most importantly of all, I don’t enjoy my experiences to their fullest, which is what I am here for!

One Simple Practice

Use this simple integration technique to quell the overwhelm, realign your nervous system to safety and pleasure, and feel grounded and clear.

❤ Set aside 2–10 minutes on your timer or take your time with this – even if you have a few minutes, this can be supportive.

❤ Close your eyes if you feel comfortable and notice for a few breaths how you’re feeling in your body now. Notice what you notice. Allow what you feel to happen.

❤ Notice the last time you felt LIKE YOURSELF, affirmed in yourself, or pleasure. It can be a teeny tiny moment like listening to music in the shower, or a bigger one like a connecting moment with a friend.

❤ Picture yourself in that moment including your surroundings at that time, people that were with you, the smells, tastes and colors around you.

❤ Feel the emotions, sensations, colors, textures: and the felt sense that you feel now, in present moment as you recall this memory. Marinate in the feel of it in your body now. Breathe it in.

❤ If this is all you have time for great. If you have time to do more, continue to another time in the last few days, or week, or month, and so on…. that you felt affirmed in yourself, like yourself, or in a pleasurable moment.

❤ Follow the previous steps to EMBODY the feeling.

❤ Notice how you feel when you are complete with your practice for the day.

Notice the Shift

It’s such a simple thing we can do for ourselves – to tune into the pleasurable moments and let them metabolize and sync up with our being.

It’s like a little antidote for the nervous system to daily fears, anxieties, depression, and overwhelm.

You’re not only supporting your body in the moment, you’re also setting up your nervous system up to FEEL MORE pleasure and attune to moments where you feel like yourself!
